Our community isn’t designed to be an anonymous directory of properties and profiles. Verified membership helps create a more comfortable environment for both travelers and hosts.
Jennie and I personally review member verification rather than simply relying on an automated checkbox.
We require a G-rated profile photo and a way to confirm that the person joining is actually the person represented by the profile. The goal isn’t to make joining difficult. It’s to provide another layer of confidence for people who may eventually meet one another or open their homes to one another.
Privacy, discretion and trust matter when lifestyle travel moves from online conversation to the real world.
Hosts Still Decide Who Stays in Their Home
Being part of the community doesn’t mean you’re automatically entitled to stay at someone’s property.
Hosts remain in control.
A host can review a request and decide whether a particular guest or couple feels like a good fit before accepting a stay. Travelers can do the same when deciding where and with whom they’d like to stay.
